![]() ![]() This place is very near to San Diego, so for a little get away, this is a must go! There are a bunch of little (little? This thing rivals anything in Vegas) tribal casinos around here. The restaurants were beautiful and if the food is as good as it looks, you're in for a treat. However, I saw the hotel pool and it is GORGEOUS, so come stay and take a dip. I bet it is not quite so lovely in August. However, you can take the bus to Tijuana, take the walk to San Ysidro Station, take the tram to America Plaza Station, take the walk to Broadway & Kettner Bl, take the line 992 bus to San Diego Int'l Airport & Terminal 1, take the walk to San Diego airport, fly to St. ![]() Of course, it is late spring so there is grass. There is no direct connection from Mexicali to Fort Leonard Wood. I'm currently looking out over a huge meadow with cows in it. There are outlet stores across the street and everything is lovely. It is in a lot way back of the property, but there is a shuttle that runs all the time. The staff at the hotel & casino were amazingly friendly and competent, the machines were laid out great. I did not get to play the quarter slots because the entire bank was lit up, but that's not the casino's fault, it is the smokers. The casino has a HUGE area of non smoking, and the rest is not that bad. Who doesn't like free? It is in a lot way back of the property, but there is a shuttle that runs all the time.
